THG will not attempt to bore you with broken brackets, unexpected upsets, home court advantages or how Tom Izzo is now the current greatest coach in America. I mean, really could Maryland be in the Final Four if Korie Lucious missed that buzzer beater? Personally Greivis Vasques would have been a much better storyline in Indianapolis than any of the Dookies.
The Bulldogs have really enjoyed this dance
The most intriguing themes of the Final Four are Bob Huggins and the Butler Bulldogs. A hard drinking wildman and a coach with a degree in economics. Can you guess who is who? Much has been made about Brad Stevens and how is a sabermetrics number running dork? And if Butler wins every hoops-head will probably adopt the “numbers game” as the way to coach a ball team.
Now the dynamic duo of Huggie-bear and Billy Hahn will have the boys from Morgantown ready to rock and roll against the evil college hoop empire that calls itself Duke (game tip 8:47pm). Take the man in the sweat suit and some moonshine over the kooks from Duke. The earlier game (6:07pm) features the hometown squad of a mid-major (aren’t they ranked in the top 10?) against the “new” world’s greatest basketball coach. Izzo may karate chop some dudes and pull out a last second basket (again) for the victory, but THG don’t see it this weekend. The Bulldogs will take out the Spartans and cause tears to fall in the ‘UP’ or the Upper Peninsula. As for the final game prediction and a recipe? Check back Sunday or Monday for the next post!
