Like many people in the US THG has been watching his fair share of the World Cup. After watching the “American footballers” bow out to Ghana (why god, why!), I’ve had to find another team to cheer for. Yes it’s a little disappointing to see the US team not reach their potential….again, but hey at least “we” aren’t team England or France! As you can guess from the title of this post, THG has hitched his wagon to the Brazilians and their BBQ techniques.
It has been a while but there is even a recipe here on the post:
Brazilian Grilled Skirt Steak
Ingredients:
1. Skirt steak 1-4lbs, it doesn’t matter it’s good.
2. Kosher or ice cream salt
3. Ground black pepper
4. 1-4 cloves (1 clove = 1lb of steak) of garlic, pressed
1. Coat both sides of the steak in kosher or ice cream salt, black pepper and garlic.
2. Pan-sear both sides of the steak, about 2-3 minutes on each side over medium-high heat, best if using a cast-iron skillet.
3. Remove from pan and completely wrap steak in foil.
4. Grill at medium for about 30-40 minutes for a well done steak.
5. Serve with grilled vegetables or grilled fruit, THG recommends asparagus, pineapple, peppers, peaches.
You done, Eat!
