First off, and lets get this out of the way…..Duke won, beat Butler, congrats.
College basketball is now over, and we should all shed a tear. But now what sports and/or food season is next on the calendar? Although THG is not necessarily a big fan, I’ve heard that it is now baseball season. For many people baseball season indicates a right of passage and the official beginning of spring. People of the THG ilk would say that lacrosse is the true harbinger of spring with bluejays, terrapins, wahoos, orangemen, and greyhounds running around wild and crazy, but I’ll save that for another post…..

Hotdogs, get your hotdogs here!
When talking about baseball and thinking about the food associated with baseball one thing springs to mind: hotdogs! Now there are many “side items” that can accompany a good hotdog. But who are you kidding there are only two items that one should ever choose to accompany a good dog, and they are COLD draft beer (cheaper = better) and boardwalk fries covered in malt vinegar and Old Bay. Now here is where the inevitable debate always begins, what do you top your dog with? The conventional choices are usually katsup, mustard, relish, but sometimes people will sub-in onions instead of relish and stick with katsup and mustard. THG being the unconventional and nonconformist guy that I am does up his dog usually one of two ways. Style numero uno is dog (kosher preferred) covered in BBQ sauce, onions and relish with maybe a sprinkle of Old Bay. Style number two is dog covered in spicy or dijon mustard, onions, relish and jalapeños. Of course you sometimes have throw a curve from either of those and go with a chili dog topped with a little nacho cheese and spicy mustard. Now hey I didn’t say my hotdog style is for everyone or really anyone but it works for THG!
Let’s get some comments. How do you like your dog?
